Madurai Kovilpatti one of the hottest and very tough competitive route in TamilNadu. with TNSTC bus down south from Madurai flowing on this route. It is a difficult task to achieve collection by Private Players. AVS based at Thiruchengode entered Madurai a year back bough a pudukottai and Kovilpatti service. It has been some wait for me to travel in new TAT sleeper launched just 20days before. Reached kovilpatti new bus stand by 8.45pm good 30 min before many SETC crossed also 3+2 TNSTC doing special because of weekend & summer. Thirumalaivasan Travels, SLS non ac seater, Rathimeena AC sleeper crossed Finally TAT guy arrived around 15 min late; Bus exterior looks excellent & maintained well. Coming to interior individual TV for every berth charger point working too. Light & Fans where switched off. I was seated in upper double berth 1st row for a 6 ft person berth is comfortable that’s good indeed. Planned to sit in co driver seat and enjoy entire journey.
Bus departs by 9.30 immediately stopped in Hotel Aryas for dinner break. Not even a space to park bus in hotel. Harini non ac, KPN non ac, 2SRS non ac seater / sleeper & few tourist bus where there surprised to see only one TNSTC in hotel.15 min break starts journey by 9.55 immediately occupied co driver seat driver surprised and asked me to sit inside I said like to travel with crew members they are very happy to hear word from passenger.
Bus driven by single driver because another driver doing some special service because of weekend. When enquired with driver regarding these he said just a one day am driving it’s not a problem. Coming to journey bus is driven @80 – 90KPH no hard breaking reached virudhunagar by 10.30.. 2 passengers boarded bus is full there is no further boarding. Went inside Madurai city and reached bypass by 11.30 Near to Melur IJT CRS one & Hebron 9100 passed in a flash. Driver losing his cool and said there is no need for these much speed they will go just 30min before, near to trichy 2 SRM multi & KPN Multi overtaken us.
Until then not even single omni we have overtaken. Overtake few SETC’s in trichy bypass overtaken SRM non ac & Ramya AC seater & TAT AC sleeper. After that’s bus driven @90KPH top speed registered as 101 Kph as per GPS. Finally went for little sleep for 3 hour I can seen in toll vikravandi & Tindivanam & Chengalpet lost good 20 min in every toll heavy traffic. No break in Vikravandi Finally reached Tambaram by 6.30AM. Overall journey time 9hr which is decent time. Overall a very satisfying journey in every aspect.
